I was supposed to be seeing the GRATEFUL DEAD there on that date but Mydland died. That was the one and only time I spent extra to get reserved seating at shoreline and would have had the first five rows. All the other shows I saw were always gen admission all the way around.

I have read that this is a particularly emotional show for that reason. Certainly I prefer it to all other GD related DVDs, even the recently acquired decent copy of Sunshine Daydream.

even though I don't particularily enjoy hearing Ken Babbs blabber on while he's trippin nor do I enjoy seeing kids left alone to play in dirt, NOTHING beats seeing that amazing Dark Star in it's entirety.

I had awesome seats for this show. Can't remember what my ones were for the canceled shows but remember this was the only JGB show I saw that had that big GD feel to it {not a bad thing in my book}plus it was all Jerry. Very intense to say the least and Los Lobos was something else too.

Also to get back to the original subject, not an official GD release, but the 89 Pay Per View summer solstice show is VHS quality and out there and is excellent and possibly a better show than the very good Truckin up show.
Wish they would release this on DVD though since it's basically sort of a finished product that's just sitting there.
